Tiger Woods new house comes complete with a four-hole golf course, golf training studio, tennis court and a boathouse, all looking over the Atlantic Ocean. The golf legends home is also equipped with gym, diving pool, lap lane and 100-foot running track. The golf course is set up so Tiger can hit balls from his second story studio.

The course features four greens, six bunkers with different depths and kinds of sand, a video center and a putting studio. It would be pretty cool to have all this in your backyard.

On Tiger’s blog he mentioned that he is very “excited” to move in his new home and also posted some photos of the new pad. We have shared a few of the photos below so you can see it for yourself.

Sometimes what you do before a round of golf is just as important as what you do on the course.

Here are two ways to practice your golf swing before a round of golf. Taking the time to stretch, warm up and practice your swing can result in a much better game, as well as a less painful few days afterwards. We’ve all experienced pain at some point resulting from not taking the time to work out our muscles before using them. When loosening up and gaining flexibility before a round of golf, there are two awesome exercises you can do that will show some serious results.

The first important exercise is stretching. Do the basics: bend at the waist and attempt to touch your toes, holding it for a period of time. With all the twisting you do while swinging your clubs, the lower back can take some abuse, and put strain on the entire body. Take the time to concentrate your stretching on the following areas: legs, arms, wrists, upper lats.

Use your clubs to help you loosen up. Grab one from end-to-end and hold it out in front of you at chest height, and twist your hips from side-to-side. Also try holding two clubs together and swing as you would normally, to add weight and flexibility to your golf swing.

The second way to warm up before a round is to actually hit some golf balls. A lot of courses have practice areas, which are great if you show up early enough to use them before your scheduled tee time. If you’re able to practice at a driving range, start with a lower iron and work your way up. Have a target in mind and work on your aim; but try not to overdo it. Remember, you’ve still got a full game ahead of you.

Now hit the short-game practice area and practice bunker. If for some reason there isn’t one, any grassy area will be fine. Use your wedges to get a feel for accuracy and how powerful your swing is.

Lastly, work on your putting. We all know how easy it is to rack up strokes on the green. Get a feel for the green and use targets to test your accuracy, speed and distance. Try from far away, then closer up, choosing different angles and slopes. Get your confidence down before heading out there.

Taking the time to work on both of these elements are almost guaranteed to show positive results on the course. Showing up early to stretch and practice is essential to your golf game, and can contribute to a better overall performance.

In golf terms, the fringe of the green is essentially, ‘the area of short grass surrounding the putting green and between the fairway.’ The grass is slightly higher than the putting surface, which can be confusing to some golfers who don’t know whether they should putt or chip.

It depends on the circumstances as there are a lot of factors on any course, including weather, where your shot can vary. In most cases you would most likely want to chip, though there is the fear that your chip shot will be much to powerful and go well past the hole. It’s all about using your golfer’s instinct, but there are some situations where you might want to chip rather than putt.

Lastly, if the center of the green is more than 20 feet away, the rule of thumb is to use a chip shot. A putter simply won’t cut it.

If the grass is damp, it’s going to slow your ball – even on the putting green. That means if you’re worried your chip shot might be too strong, it will take a little extra power to get off the fringe and it won’t roll so far on the green.

If you’re going uphill, remember that you’re going to need a lot more power to get the ball up there. Especially if it’s a steep hill, you might want to chip the ball right over and have it land directly on the green.

It also depends on the size of the fringe. If you’re several feet away from the green, a chip shot will be required. There’s no way you’re going to putt seven feet back from the putting surface.

Look at the size and slope of the green. If it’s a larger green, you can land a chip shot on it a lot more safely than a smaller green. Is the slope of the green going with you or against you? Take your time to examine the green to anticipate where the ball will roll once it lands.

Keep in mind, no rules are set in stone. It’s all about judgment and having that golfer’s instinct we all strive for. Walk up to the green, get a feel for the terrain and prepare your shot as best you can.

If you plan on attempting to make an outrageous putt that goes up and down on a sloped green, make sure to practice on a mini putt course near you.
