There are over nine golf courses in the Chatham-Kent area, which see ten months of action each year as the region is famous for offering one of Canada’s longest golf seasons.

In the heart of Chatham is the Maple City Country Club, set in the scenic valley of the Thames River. It’s one of a few private golf courses in Chatham-Kent, and has operation since 1957. Unfortunately for non-members, you’ll need to join if you want experience all this remarkable country club has to offer.

The Ridgetown Golf and Curling Club has been a tradition of Chatham-Kent golfing for over 85 years, first established in 1923. The 18-hole par 72/73 course has a solid reputation for being among the best maintained courses in the region, and for offering an affordable day out on the links for golfers of all levels.

Rolyn Golf Trails is another great golf course in Chatham, with 9-holes at par 38. The Blenheim Community Golf Course is another nice, little (and affordable) 18-hole course, in operation since 1965.

But the mother of all golf courses in Chatham-Kent is The Links of Kent Golf Club, which recently opened in 2005. The large 27-hole course is an amalgamation of two Chatham-Kent golf courses: the Indian Creek Golf and Country Club and Raleigh Meadows Golf Club.

You’ll find other Chatham area golf courses in nearby Tilbury, Charing Cross and Wallaceburg, home to the Baldoon Golf Club which has been running since 1930. Country View Golf Course is located midway between Chatham and Wallaceburg, offering 27 holes with a par 72 for 18 holes.

There’s something for everyone when golfing in Chatham-Kent, from the most casual to advanced golfers who come from all over the world to golf in this unique part of Southern Ontario.

It’s certainly worth the trip.
