Easy to get to from the 401 and located just 95 kilometres east of Toronto, the town of Cobourg is a quick and inexpensive golfing getaway whether it’s just for an afternoon or if you’re looking to make an entire weekend of it.

Local hotels are relatively affordable and there are several golf courses in Cobourg to choose from, all of which offer a great day on the links for casual golfers and wannabe-pros alike.

Surrounding the immediate town, you’ve got a handful of Cobourg public golf courses. The Roxburgh Glen Golf Club is a nine-hole course catering to golfers of all skill sets, offering affordable rates and seasonal passes. The small but scenic course is naturally enclosed in a wooded valley, conveniently located just minutes from the highway.

Not far away is the Cobourg Creek Golf Course, another nine holes of public golfing with onsite dining, drinks and entertainment inside The Mill Restaurant and Pub. Larchmere Golf Club is another nine-hole public golf course in Cobourg, which has been in operation since 1970.

A bit further from town are more Cobourg area golf courses including the Dalewood Golf and Curling Club, which is a private 18-hole, par 71 championship-style course. The country club has been open since 1974 and offers members a beautiful clubhouse, two outdoor curling rinks, and a Cobourg driving range.

Just down the road is Ash Brook Golf Club, a semi-private golf course just two kilometres north of Port Hope. It offers 18 holes at par 72 and will also require a membership if you want to play.

Looking for some practice? The Sunshine Farms Family Entertainment Centre is a great place to improve your game with a Cobourg driving range and lots of other fun stuff that isn’t just fun if you’re a kid.
