Located midway between Brantford and Hamilton, and about an hour from Toronto, the community of Copetown is both a residential and rural area known for its outdoor recreation and sprawling acres of parkland.
There are several golf courses in Copetown and surrounding area, and with such convenient access from the city via the 403, it’s a golfers easy getaway on both weekends and weekdays.
Probably the best known golf course in Copetwon is The Flamborough Hills Golf and Country Club, which has been a staple of Copetown’s longstanding golfing tradition since first opening in 1961. The 18-hole public course prides itself in having a private club feel, hosting numerous tournaments and charity events throughout golf season.
The Copetown Woods Golf Club opened in 2003 to bring a new level of championship golfing to southwestern Ontario. The stunning 18-hole links-style course is designed by architect Dirk Kirkpatrick, utilizing the area’s natural rolling countryside and landscape. The public Copetown Woods golf course also features banquet facilities, a putting green, and a driving range.
Within minutes of both courses is the private Beverly Golf and Country Club, which is exclusive to members-only. The course is an 18-hole, par 70, 6,507-yard layout and a membership will run you about $10,000.
Just outside of town, you’ll find more Copetown area golf courses including Apollo Valley to the west and Brant Valley Golf Club to the east. Other golf courses near Copetown can be found in the neighbouring town of Dundas, which is home to more public clubs and mini putts near Copetown.
When speaking of popular golfing destinations of Southern Ontario, Copetown is definitely up there, as it has been for decades.
