The city of Peterborough is often seen as the gateway to cottage country to many Torontonians, located just south of the Kwartha lakes. This gorgeous part of Southern Ontario nestled on the Otonabee River is a beautiful recreational area with much to do for golf enthusiasts.

There are several golf courses in Peterborough, offering a scenic day out on the links for golfers of all skill sets. In the immediate area alone there are a handful to choose from. It’ll take more than a few days if you want to experience all that golfing in Peterborough has to offer.

Among the most prestigious is the Peterborough Golf and Country Club, a private 18-hole course which has been in operation since 1897. A membership is required to play, offering full access to its facilities including leagues, lessons and clinics, and clubhouse. During the winter, the indoor curling rink features men and women’s league curling with a separate membership.

Also in Peterborough is the Pine Crest Golf and Country Club, opened by the Dixon family in 1925, with 18 holes spanning 6270 yards at par 71. The semi-private course offers memberships as well as single green fees, with an onsite driving range, two putting greens, a clubhouse, pro shop, and Peterborough golf lessons.

The Liftlock Golf Club has been a tradition of golfing in Peterborugh since 1960, offering a total of 27 holes (a par three 18-hole course and separate par three nine-hole course) of scenic golfing on the Trent-Severn Waterway.

Heron Landing Golf Club is a semi-private 18-hole executive course, with the option of playing nine holes. It’s a generous course, fairly friendly to beginners and not difficult to hit the landing areas. Kawartha Golf and Country Club is also semi-private, offering a challenging 18 holes designed by architect Stanley Thompson.

Keystone Links is an 18-hole golf and country club in Peterborough, which also offers nine holes if you can only do a half-day. It also offers full banquet facilities, a putting green, driving range, and state-of-the-art indoor golf simulations.

For something more casual, there are also a handful of Peterborough mini putts including the Milltown Mini Golf and Batting Cages and Putt N Partee, which are both perfect for family-oriented fun.

There are also lots of other Peterborough area golf courses nearby including Quarry Golf Club and Tamarac Golf and Country Club in Ennismore to the north and Bellmere Winds Golf Course in Keene to the south.
